One of the region’s largest companies has opened its newest building in a partnership with a top university in the Dayton region.
Dayton-based Premier Health officially opened its newest medical office building at 1715 Brown St. near the University of Dayton’s campus. Premier Health is the anchor tenant in the 47,000-square-foot facility, a former church, which will provide on-campus care for UD’s nearly 2,700 employees and expand the larger community’s access to health care services.
“This innovative partnership will expand community, staff and student access to a broad range of quality care options,” said Mike Riordan, president and CEO of Premier Health, in a statement. “Our region’s employers are looking for opportunities to provide convenient access to quality health care services for their employees, and this employer clinic model achieves that goal.”
The site, a $12-million project, will house nearly 50 employees, including eight new hires, according to Premier Health. It will provide a range of services to both the community and UD employees – from primary care to Counseling services provided by Samaritan Behavioral Health Inc.
“Both the UD family and surrounding community benefit,” said Andy Horner, UD’s executive vice president for business and administrative services, in a statement.
